GALICIAN MINISTRY OF HEALTH – SERGAS

Elaboration of the Basic and Detailed Engineering Design and Site Management.

SERGAS requested the elaboration of the Basic and Detailed Engineering Design and the Site Management for the INTERIOR ALTERATIONS TO THE HOSPITAL OF BARBANZA.

Starting from the current situation, the project covered the following areas:

• Correction of the 3^rd floor existing deficiencies.

An overall alteration to the hospitalization floor was undertaken in order to adapt it to the real necessities of the hospital.

• Filing of the medical records.  

Due to the oversized medical record archive, the original space intended for it on the ground floor was exhausted and there were other near spaces fitted out for its provisional extension.

The hospital itself came with the proposal of fitting out a space at the back, which at a certain moment ceased to have a specific use, since it had the adequate floor to support the weight of the archived material.

• System deficiencies.

The 3^rd floor and the new archive area of the hospital were acclimatized in order to achieve the optimal comfort and health conditions. As for the isolated patient wards, it was decided that each of them should have its own equipment so as to be able to individually decide if they should have higher pressure or depression depending on the patient’s needs. For this purpose, it was designed an acclimatization system totally based on exterior air with constant supply flow and variable return flow, which would be controlled by means of two differential pressure sensors placed at each ward door.  

Likewise, there were corrected the existing deficiencies regarding the hospital health systems.
