DEVELOPMENT OF THE STREETS SAN LORENZO AND POZA DE BAR, IN SANTIAGO DE COMPOSTELA.

LOCAL CONSORTIUM OF SANTIAGO.

Elaboration of the Basic and Detailed Engineering Design and Site Management.

The Local Consortium of Santiago de Compostela requested the elaboration of the engineering design for the Development of the Streets of San Lorenzo and Poza de Bar, in Santiago de Compostela, for which it was later undertaken also the Site Management.

The works consisted mainly of the development of the mentioned streets with the main target of improving the public space quality, complying with the Urban Regulations of the „Special Plan for Protection and Restoration of the Historic Centre of Santiago de Compostela”, as well as updating the existing public service infrastructures and providing new modern networks.

As for their initial state, the streets of San Lourenzo and Poza de Bar, occupying a surface of 4.708,12 m2, presented a failing surface development, with special emphasize on the pavement dimensions in the existing plan, with widths that made the pedestrian traffic very difficult and that in some cases had sections which were added after the execution in order to save the alignment differences.

The main target was to coordinate and organize the public space according to the vehicle and pedestrian traffic, improving or, depending on each case, completing the public service infrastructure by means of restoring the sewer and water supply networks and burying the telecommunication networks, improving the public illumination system and the low voltage electric networks and providing new buried networks, at the same time bringing them in line with the Urban Regulations specific to the Historic Centre.

There were also organized in line pavement parking spaces, as well as two bus stops.
