Elaboration of the Engineering Design.

Laradas is an emblematic working-class neighbourhood of Arteixo built more than 50 years ago. Due to the considerable change in the urban criteria along all these years, it was considered necessary to reorganize the public space in order to adapt it to nowadays standards and to comply with the accessibility demands. 

Taking into account that it is situated in an particular personality environment, it was sought a solution that would modify completely the aesthetics of the surroundings, by playing with the specific colours of the neighbourhood.

Thus, the paving was restored so that the grey of the roadway was clearly distinct from the black of the car parking areas and the white of the pedestrian spaces.

Besides, there were created noble leisure areas, which were to become meeting and recreation places for the neighbourhood inhabitants.
