Elaboration of the Engineering Design, Site Management and Occupational Health and Safety Coordination for the new Fish Auction Market of Cedeira, Wholesalers’ rooms and Goose barnacle handling room. 

Following the prior works for fitting out the goose barnacle handling room and the wholesalers’ rooms, the Ministry of Sea of Galicia entrusted COTECNO with the elaboration of the Engineering Design and further on with the Site Management of the building works for the new Fish Auction Market of the Fishing Port of Cedeira.

The works were completed within 10 months and they were delivered in October 2013.

The building, which occupied the same space as the existing one, had similar constructive characteristics to Phase I which had been already executed and to which it was attached, thus the fusion of white concrete, wood and zinc were the marks of its identity. Thus, when the works were completed, both buildings resulted into a uniform ensemble. 

The new fish auction market is organized on two storeys, with a total gross building surface of 2.616,15 m². The ground floor is used for the reception, exhibition, sale and dispatch of the fish. The first floor has a social use, since it accommodates the social space and the offices and it was also left a free space which in the future could be used as an exhibition room.
