YACHT FACILITIES IN LAS ÁNIMAS QUAY, IN THE PORT OF A CORUÑA (ÁNIMAS II).
NAUTA CORUÑA, S.L.
Elaboration of the Design Engineering and Site Management.
NAUTA CORUÑA, S.L., as concessionaire of the Yacht Facilities of the Las Animas Quay of the Port of A Coruña (ÁNIMAS II), proposed the creation of an environment that would represent a clear advertising of the yachting, starting from an already built dock with easy access both from the sea and the land and taking advantage of the city proximity and its sheltered location.
As for the water surface, it was taken as a starting point the idea that the port should offer mooring places for vessels which are smaller or equal to 8 meters in length. Thus, their organization was made by using two 96-meter-long floating piers. They totalized 132 mooring places provided with electricity, illumination and potable water services and the anchoring system was based on concrete deadheads arranged in three rows in parallel with the piers.
The land area was carefully arranged. To this purpose, the existing paving and closures were cleaned and repaired. Likewise, it was restored the existing dry dock crane and the marina was provided with a clean waste collecting point and a Marpol container, thus becoming a clear example of environmental management.
Special attention must be also given to the building, which maintained its volumetric form. The works consisted of facade and roof restoration and the integral hollowing out for a better reorganization that would better adapt the spaces to the new uses.
